Our enchanting 2½ mile narrow gauge railway offers train rides through the unspoilt countryside of Cornwall.  All trains are hauled by lovingly restored Victorian Steam Locomotives.

Engines In Steam

The engines in operation are usually decided on the day and tend to be reflective of the weather.

The following is a guide only and anyone interested in seeing a particular engine should contact us before travelling.

  • Lilian: Dry or hot weather

  • Covertcoat: Rain or damp weather

  • Dorothea: Dry but not hot weather (Dorothea is steamed based on the availability of her primary driver. Those wishing to see Dorothea in operation should contact before travelling as this engine is not steamed reguarly).

Dogs are welcome on the site, and can ride on the train, if kept on a short lead and under control. Dogs are not permitted in the café (except guide dogs) however, there is outdoor seating available including some under cover.
